How much is my car worth?
+
It depends on the exact variant, kilometres, age, condition and how you sell. Online Car Valuations prices your car against current comparable listings across Australia and gives three figures: private sale, trade-in and dealer retail. Private sale is usually the highest you can realistically ask; trade-in is usually the lowest.
What is the difference between private sale, trade-in and dealer retail value?
+
Private sale value is what a buyer is likely to pay you directly. Trade-in value is what a dealer is likely to offer, which is lower because the dealer carries reconditioning, warranty and resale costs. Dealer retail value is what the same car typically sells for on a dealer lot.
How does a car valuation by rego work?
+
You enter the registration number and state. We look up the plate against state registration data to confirm make, model, variant, engine, body and transmission, so the valuation is for your exact car rather than a close guess. The detail available varies slightly by state.
How is the value calculated?
+
We gather current listings for the same model and variant across Australia, keep the closest matches, and adjust for your kilometres, age and sale type. Every report lists the comparable vehicles used, so you can check the evidence behind the number yourself.
Why pay A$80 when free car valuations exist?
+
Free tools usually give a broad range from make, model and year. For A$80 you get a figure for your exact registered variant and kilometres, the comparable listings behind it, and a PDF report you can show a buyer, dealer, insurer or family member.
Which valuation do I need?
+
Choose the Online Car Valuation (A$80) for a market-value estimate at today's date on a stock-standard vehicle, for selling, buying, trading in or checking an insurance value. It is built from comparable listings and is not a certified valuation. Choose the Certified Comprehensive Valuation (A$250) for family law, litigation, disputes, deceased estates, or a modified or non-standard vehicle. A valuer from our parent company, Asset Valuations Group, inspects it by online video call and signs the report.
How quickly will I get my report?
+
Online Car Valuations usually arrive within two minutes of payment, on screen and by email with a PDF. Certified Comprehensive Valuations are signed off by a valuer within 2 business days, after a short online video inspection.
Can I value more than one vehicle?
+
Yes. After adding your first vehicle, choose Value additional vehicle. You can add up to 10 vehicles to one order, choose a different valuation type for each, and get 10% off every vehicle after the first.
Which states and territories do you cover?
+
All of them: NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT and NT. Enter any Australian registration number and choose the state it is registered in.
Is my payment secure?
+
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
